How To Find Out Which
DVD Drive Your XBox Has


First thing you need to do is take off your faceplate and look at the DVD drive. Shown here:


Now look in the tiny hole circled above. You should be able to see either white, red, yellow,
or no wires. This is how we are going to find out which DVD drive you have.

Red wire and black wire is a Samsung:


No wires is a Hitachi:


White wires is a BenQ:


Yello wires is a Lite-On:


There is no perfect way to find out which Lite-On drive you have unless you open up your XBox 360.
Look at the back of your XBox 360 at the manufacturing date.

If you have a Lite-On drive and your XBox 360 was manufactured:
[*]Before June 2009, you most likely have a Lite-On 74850c.
[*]Between June and August 2009, you most likely have a Lite-On 83850c.
[*]Between August and October 2009, you most likely have a Lite-On 83850cV2.
[*]In Novemeber 2009 and later, you are pretty much guaranteed to have a Lite-On 93450c.
